Uncaged Aerial Theatre are a working class, Sunderland-based, all-female aerial theatre trio.

​

With a combined 25 years plus of experience, Uncaged Aerial Theatre formed in 2019 but have been working together for over 7 years. They specialise in high-level aerial storytelling and are passionate about making workshops, opportunities and performances accessible to all.

​

Letters of Hope was created to bring communities together and enable access to arts. The show debuted at the top of Penshaw Monument with live music and workshop participants reading out their letters of hope. The show has since been performed at Durham Fringe, Horden Arts Festival and Summer Streets. 

​

Other work in their portfolio includes Girls, Girls, Girls (Washington Arts Centre 2022) and Transcend at Alphabetti Theatre.

​

They have been supported / commissioned by Sunderland Culture, Festival Stoke, Arc Stockton, Sunderland NHS Clinical Commissioning Group, Alphabetti Theatre, The Lowry and were recently shortlisted for the North East Culture Awards.
